Thank you for all your get well wishes. I am a huge baby when it comes to being sick. Fortunately for everyone around me, I am very rarely sick. I've doused myself with extract of echinacea pills, lots of Tylenol, coughed up yucky goo, swilled mango peach juice and various cups of hot tea, and I do feel better. My voice sounds like my throat is coated in dark chocolate - all husky and smokey. No, don't ask me to call you and talk sexy, because I'll just start giggling. But dang, it would sound good.
Last night my wedding fairygodmother, The Other Mother, took me out for supper. (Delicious Cajun pasta, very fitting with our Cajun themed reception ideas.) We discussed all things wedding, especially The Reception, because she's very much in charge of it. I'd had several despairing wedding talks with my Real Parents - gosh, it's hard, just like everyone said it would be. The Other Mother gave me lots of hope, and great ideas, and she's amazing. She defines the word capable, and organized, and she's exactly what I need. Thank God for her! In the meantime, my married maid of honor and I are scouring the Internet for gorgeous Empire waist dresses to accomodate the dinosaur baby.
And? Would you believe that two of my most favorite things in the world have collided? Yes, Vogue magazine and the goddess that is Tori Amos. She's been the inspiration for Viktor & Rolf's latest collection, and she played an improvisation based around the Song of Solomon during the show. She looks a little scary, I must admit, but how very, very cool. Of course, I knew about the whole fashion thing before it appeared in Vogue, but I never expected to see it there! Maybe one day they will give her a cover - I can dream, right?
So now I'm off for adventures, and I wish you a lovely, sunshine filled weekend.
