I Write Poetry Here

« doing better | Main | playing catch up »

you know what to do

So, I can think of absolutely nothing to write about except mice and how I may have conquered them, the perimeter is secured! (Can you tell I've been watching the new Ken Burns' documentary, well, okay, maybe one episode that I Tivoed?) But there's this concept that I want to introduce - today is apparently, the Great Mofo Delurking Day. (I can't get the code to work for the adorable button and no time to finagle with it this morning.)  And who I am not to participate in EVERY crazy Internet holiday or whatever that is decided upon.  And also, because I am the WORST DELURKER EVER now that I have a baby.  All my brain matter has leaked out through my breastmilk and I can never think of anything clever to say.  If I can think of something funny or clever or even downright helpful, well, it's sure to be erased by the eruption of someone's spitup or bottles that need to be washed or another thousand examples of how it's amazing that ANYTHING gets done with a small baby in your life.

So! If you are lurking, please say hello! I promise I will try to do the same today.  And if you can think of anything you'd like to know about me, please say so, and I swear I will try to answer it in a future post. I will even be organized and make a tiny folder so that your suggestions won't get lost in my email. So, yes, please say hello, you lovely lurkers you. (I am quite sure that you are lovely.) I plan to be out and about in the Internetland this afternoon and do the same, confessing my lurker status and saying hello. And now someone is grunting AND hiccuping at the same time, so I think I'd better go check on him.  Or at least go squish his cheeks.  That always helps the hiccups.

No lurking here...just popping over to say Hey! And give that boy a big kiss for me. xoxo

Happy de-lurking day!

I've been reading for alittle bit but Hello!

Okay, I know I'm not really a lurker since I have introduced myself already, but I haven't commented in a while, so I thought I should leave a quick note letting you know I'm still reading and loving your blog. Really enjoying the pictures of your adorable little boy!

I'm delurking, although I've commented on here before.
My question for you is; what have you done to emotionally adjust to the new/drastic change in your life since your baby has arrived? I'm curious because everyone says that the first month is the toughest, and I'm looking forward to my new/drastic change in the beginning of next year, so any solid advice that I can receive beforehand will be most helpful.

Hello! I enjoy reading your blog, thanks for writing.

I'm delurking although I should be deworking. I want to know what you're doing to lose your baby weight because you look great! It's been close to two years now and I can't get rid of "Keith's" belly.

Delurking here just so ya know how much I enjoy coming here!

i dont consider myself a lurker...just a sparse comment-er
;)

Not sure I count as a lurker since I just stumbled across your blog (and "lurker" conjures up images of a creepy, unshaven man with a greasy wife-beater and a habit of mumbling to himself), but I am happy to say hello! Your little guy is adorable and reminds me of my first months as a new mama. Incidentally, your post about ants and car trouble and brownie batter also reminds me of my first months as a new mama... but I think I did more crying and less writing hilarious entries about it. :) Nice to meet you!

LURKery-loo!

Hi, my name is Dana, and I am a Lurker.
I've Lurked now for a couple of weeks. Whew, it feels good to confess.

I've really enjoyed your blog...and your baby is just adorable!

I lurk most days but do sometimes comment...and always enjoy.

I don't really think I lurk since I do comment from time to time. But hi anyway! And how can it be October 3??? Isn't it still like... June?

Been reading for a while now--can;t remember how I found you (someone else's blog) I am due with my first baby in November and have enjoyed reading about your first months with your new little one.

Hello! I found your blog from the My Topography blog....

Love your spirit and honesty and wit!!

Thanks! Nancy

I'm delurking! Hi! Thanks for being such a good commenter!

Just saying 'hi' - hope the mice are gone and everything else is fine. I just wish I'd stopped by earlier, so I could have jumped on the Mofo De-lurker Bandwagon myself.

I guess I'm too old to even know what that means.

But I'll delurk if you want me to.

I admit it: I lurk. :)

Hi Sam, I haven't really been lurking. I just found your blog on doobiewah's blog. I've been keeping up with you through her and didn't realize you were the Sundayschoolrebel. She inspired me to recently start blogging myself (http://mypreciouspresent.blogspot.com/)
although I think AJ's the only person that reads it. I did check out Missglasshalffull too. I miss y'all so much, I wish we could move back. My favorite first husband is keeping his eye's peeled for a job down there so maybe I'll be back one day. Love that baby and I can't wait to lay hands on his marshmallow thighs. We will be in town for Thanksgiving. Hope to see everyone then.

I still lurk...and smile happy smiles at your cute thomas.

I so get what you're saying...if I do have a few seconds to get caught up with you blogobuds, I hardly ever have the time or cleverness to comment. And I tend to get waaaaaayyy behind and then try to catch up, which is what I'm doing today and Lord, that child is GORGEOUS.
