banana pudding is a great place to start with little "t".

now we need to get some bbq ribs in him to finish the christening process.

then we can discuss poopy diapers!

My girls first was probably jelly made by my Mama, given to them by my Mama. It IS extra special to eat your great grandmother's banana pudding!!! I bet if you ask her for the recipe, she'll say --I don't have a recipe, I put in a pinch of this a handfull of that. At least that's what K's grandmother does!!

Just wait till you get to the meat diapers PEW!!! Tina

yikes! didn't know that rice cereal could make for blast-off diaper experiences... i'm making a mental note ;-)

I am proud of you. I can't stand it when a mom is so uptight, that she can't see that there is no harm in what you did. Good for you.

flame you for feeding your child banana pudding? Surely you jest :o)I think the fact that you think you're gonna get flamed is a sign that we lean too much toward the science of parenting, and too little toward the art.

You know, I let the internet dictate what I was going to say out of fear of backlash too. I read your post yesterday and was going to say, "I would have given him a taste," but I was afraid what the others comments might be like. I'm proud of you though. New momma's sometimes feel like they have to do everything right, which isn't very healthy in the long run. Good for you, Sam. Thomas is lucky to have you as a momma.

Is conventional internet wisdom that babies should not taste banana pudding? I am mystified!

Sam

Thanks, sweet friends. I think I was afraid of people tsking me because of the slow manner in which you're supposed to introduce foods - even though, if I remember correctly, banana is one of the first safe "real" foods you can give a baby. I'm not going to start feeding him table food on a regular basis at this point, we're still just giving him mama milk and trying out the whole cereal thing. It was a one time deal - he was too precious, just longing after our food.

I had a student tell me that she gave her babies the soft part of french fries at about Thomas' age - I do draw the line there, I must say.

The Jenny formerly known as roommate.

I would have worried if you HADN'T give him banana pudding.
It's banana pudding for goodness sake.

dont you think that God made babies wait to get yucky-poop-diapers till you've had them just long enough that you can't return them? :)
