Your writing leaves me breathless. I want a whole book of it. I feel sure you were born with all the wisdom of a very, very old person and you are now finding a voice for the wisdom. Thank you for sharing. Thank you, thank you. I have been a wanderer throughout my life - not of my own choosing - but I'm always in awe of people who possess such depth of connection with a place and the people who inhabit it. My places have been fleeting with shallow roots, and I long for your fixedness - that you would take with you even if you left.

You are so incredibly talented, Sam. This post really hit me hard. You may say that your faith is simple, but even so, it shines like a diamond for the rest of us.

rookie mama

I have been thinking about you all day... can't wait to see you in the gorgeous wedding dress that is in my POSESSION!

And I am so glad that you told me about the dream. That is definitely going in the scrapbook.

And when you write your first book, we better be some of the ones that you thank on that dedication page. haha

Sam, I miss you like crazy and hope to see you this weekend! We leave first thing in the morning to head south towards the land of the stars (that is what we are using down there nowadays instead of electricity to see at night).

love, love, love

Sam-girl, you KNOCKED ME OUT with this one. You often do...but THIS POST? Must be published and shared with your fellow Mississippians. It's truly one of the most beautiful love letters to "place" I've ever read. And Rebekah's right--you are an old soul (which is probably why you don't mind us 'old' folks). ;)

Wow. I'm so happy I found your writing (via Lizardek).

I told you what I thought on the phone. But can I just say that I love you and your writing and I am so proud of you and I can't wait to see you when I get home again?

I love you, your writing, and am so very proud of you. There.

Gorgeous writing. I'm officially a Sunday School Rebel fan.

Just a beautiful post. This whole horrible thing must feel dreamlike at times. Hang in there honey, I know you are.

"this amazing woman" loves you SO! Gros Bisous!!!!
